What They Say
Hear From Our Fencers
One of the many things I love about TeamK is the environment, which stresses hard work, fun, and discipline. Being in San Diego, one of my biggest personal battles is the struggle to keep the TeamK mentality and continue to do what I should be doing while I am away from my teammates, coaches, and the TeamK family where those values are embodied in everything we do: from how we wake up, go to school, do homework, eat food, to how we warm up, how we train, and how we compete and conduct ourselves as human beings.
The training here is exceptional! I’ve improved greatly thanks to the supportive and Last week I came to train in the morning by myself. While I was training I was reminded of how I was when I was younger and what it takes to be successful. When I walked into the club with my mind aligned with my future goals, ready to act to support these goals, I thought back to how my mentality was when I was fencing well. I remember how hard and focused I would train, and how I always tried to do more and more by myself, always trying to make every aspect of my fencing and life better every time I did it.
Learning, working hard, and having fun is what this journey is all about! Even though we didn’t come home with any medals, we’ll be coming home with valuable lessons that’ll help us continue to grow 🙌.
Thanks again everyone for the support, and for contributing to this great community that we can each call “home”!!

I think this tournament was a really good example of how we should always think long term about improving our fencing and not just focus on a single result we want. I think I had some good opportunities today to work on practicing and developing the new skills I need against really good fencers, and although I still have a lot to work on, tournaments like this one will help me grow long term.
I have been working with these guys since years now! With lots of hard work and I really felt the power of working through the difficulty each day, and how that adds up and comes out at the tournament if I really try to apply the way I trained. Of course, it’s something that I knew from being told many times, and that I think all of us do, but for me it was a deeper, more resonant sense of understanding. I think it’s an important feeling to have and overcome, because then hopefully you can keep it going forward and use that system to improve yourself even more.
